In a world of artificial text, the most valuable asset is a Human Voice. We empower youth to speak from the heart, think on their feet, and lead with empathy.

HRW evaluates the Writer, the Speaker, and the Thinker—all at once. Students don’t just submit text. They prove it is theirs, speak it clearly, and respond with real reasoning.
Original ideas, clear structure, and meaningful perspective.
Clarity, pacing, pronunciation, and authentic expression.
Thinking on your feet: reasoning, examples, and reflection.
Many contests only reward writing. HRW rewards authentic ownership and real communication. Students learn that powerful expression is a full skill—writing + speaking + thinking.
Ideas, structure, evidence/examples, and authentic voice.
Clarity, pacing, articulation, expressiveness.
Reasoning, organization, and real-time communication.
Grades miss confidence and authentic voice. HRW reveals these strengths.

Submissions are evaluated in English on this site version. If English is not your first language, you are still welcome—judges value clarity and sincerity over “perfect accent.”
You must submit all 3 components:
Use a readable font and normal spacing. Do not include private information (home address, personal ID numbers).
A photo may be uploaded for identity verification and optional Showcase use. If you choose “No” for media consent, your photo will not be used publicly.
Recordings must be a single, continuous take. Do not cut, splice, speed up, add music, add sound effects, or apply voice filters.
The prompt is randomly generated on the submission page. Your goal is not to memorize a “perfect answer,” but to respond thoughtfully. We recommend: Point → Reason → Example → Conclusion.
Violations result in disqualification to protect honest participants.
Verification: HRW may request additional verification for finalists or random audits (e.g., brief live reading or a short Q&A). This is to protect authentic student work.
Judging note: Accent is not penalized. Clarity and authenticity matter more than “perfect performance.”
Final award names and categories may vary by season.
HRW collects participant information only to administer the competition (eligibility, judging, awards, verification). If media consent is not granted, HRW will not publish student name/photo/audio publicly.
